Large communities of Coralberry (Ardisia crenata) dominate the understory in the nether reaches of the current garden, closest to the condominium development.

Though countless plants were poached from the jungle while nothing was apparently being done with  the tract, many important specimen palms, old oaks old pines and a few herbaceous treasures are still established from years ago.

The grounds of McKee Botanical Garden are now securely fenced, to protect the remaining plants and the new construction works.
