|Jump to: Hort Contents | Fact Sheets | Florida Horticulture | Growing Fruit|
Aroids are widely cultivated throughout Florida as houseplants and where warm enough, in the landscape. Outdoors they are best planted in shade. Commonly encountered aroids in Florida include various species and numerous varieties of Philodendron, Dieffenbachia, Pothos, Spathiphyllum, Anthurium, Aglaonema, Caladium, and Alocasia. Many aroids have caustic saps which cause skin irritation by contact or ingestion.
