| A cactus dish garden is ideal for a sunny hot windowsill where other houseplants tend to become scorched. Naturally the water requirement is lower than tropical origin plants grown indoors. Cactus gardens delivered by florists generally do not have drainage holes in the container, but are planted with a a gravel layer at the bottom of the potting medium. It is important not to apply too much water at once, however don't push the plants beyond their limit of drought tolerance either. Depending on the amount of sunlight, a cactus dish garden may need watering every 7-10 days. - L. Fulghum |
